A sense of music

I'm sitting here in my first class of the day listening to my professor talk of his adventures by showing it on a slideshow. The first thing I hear coming out of his presentation is the song from toy story (You got a friend in me). So I'm thinking is this his favorite song or just a theme to make his powerpoint interesting? Then, another student in my class seems pretty bored and starts listening to his iPod. While he's sitting a seat infront of me, I can hear him jamming to rock music, Wow! Is he that bored and wants to rather hear that instead of getting his education. Oh gosh, Music can be everywhere, but however I'm still on the listen to see what type of music people listen to during their time or of other peoples time.

  1. I really like the subject of your blog. Music is everywhere. It is interesting to see what different types of music people enjoy and when they choose to listen to it.

Your blog made me reminds me of psychology and the content made me think of different daily noticing or "studies" you could conduct.
Do the different types of music people listen to illustate something about their personalities?
Does listening to music during a certain time in a person's life indicate their mental state (stress, depression, joy, love, hope, etc)?

It would be interesting to find out! :)

  2. Although I have come to University to gain an education and plan to utilize all my available resources, Ive certainly sat in some classes that were thrown together very lazily and therefore I have a tough time giving my all. However, there's no excuse for not taking your education seriously.

  3. I feel the music coming out of the graphics in your blog. Very nice! I use music as a way to focus, I had a class a year ago that the professor was so monotone that music was the only way to actucally keep my focus. I am interested to see wehre you take the blog.

  4. If the teacher is talking about relevant information, then there's no excuse to ignore them, however if it is not, then it makes sense. But depending on what I'm doing I will listen to different types of music, such as I can never listen to anything heavier when I am doing homework.
